About Us

S & S Sportfishing is owned by Rod & Kari Landrus and run by Captain Ben Alberts, a native to Sturgeon Bay, WI. Rod’s love of salmon fishing and his lifelong dream of owning a salmon boat was the driving force behind this endeavor. All it took was one charter with his wife and twins to make his dream a reality. They were hooked and the boat came shortly after. As for the boat name “The Big Casino,” what can we say other than, Rod’s a lucky guy.

Our team is motivated to provide the best possible fishing experience for all, whether you are an avid fisher or a novice just along for the ride. We want everyone to walk away from their trip saying “that was the best salmon fishing trip I’ve ever been on!”

Tournament winning Captain Ben has an excellent reputation, and is quite well-known and respected throughout the Sturgeon Bay area. As a native to the area fishing both sides of the Door Peninsula for salmon, trout, walleye and bass, Captain Ben prides himself in making every charter as memorable as possible by providing excellent customer service.

The Big Casino is a 36′ Tiara with twin gas engines and a spacious fishing deck to accommodate all.
